Demand for St John’s services is increasing

Many Gold Coast residents lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic and finding it tough living on the current JobSeeker payments.

St John’s are finding their services are required more than ever with demand for quality clothing, food and basic health care services increasing.   Di Ediah, Welfare Manager, advised “there are many first-timers seeking interviews, a greater number than ever before”.

Although the JobSeeker payments will increase in April, Dianne Kozik, St John’s Centre General Manager, doesn’t believe the amount is enough resulting in greater numbers of people requiring St John’s services.

St John’s are looking for sponsors to provide additional emergency relief.  If you can help please contact Dianne Kozik on (07) 5531 6013 or by email admin@stjohnscc.org.au.
