RECORD NUMBERS EXPECTED AT ST JOHN’S CRISIS CENTRE CHRISTMAS LUNCH
SURFERS PARADISE, GOLD COAST, QLD – More than 120 Gold Coast residents in need are expected through the doors of St. John’s Crisis Centre to celebrate the festive season on Tuesday 17th December.
The lunch, an annual event, always filled with laughter and joy, brings some much-needed seasonal cheer not only to those families suffering the effects of homelessness, but also financial and other hardship as well as domestic violence.
The rolling Christmas lunch with all the seasonal trimmings and adornments is regularly attended by local politicians and dignitaries whose ongoing support helped St. John’s Crisis Centre serve almost 23,000 hot meals to those in need last year as well as school lunches for vulnerable children, clothes and washing and laundry facilities for the homeless and disadvantaged.
Clive Haddow, President of St. John’s Crisis Centre stated, “Christmas is always a difficult time for families suffering the effects of homelessness, financial insecurity or domestic violence, so our annual event is especially important in bringing our community together to spread some festive cheer when and where it is needed most.”
The St. John’s Crisis Centre Christmas Lunch takes place on Tuesday 17th December between 12:00-2:00pm at its crisis centre at 36 Hamilton Avenue, Surfers Paradise, 4217.
