St. John’s supports over 5,500 women, men, and children in their time of need each year. The programs offered at the crisis centre are provided through a combination of grants, donations, fundraising activities, and the hard work of our volunteers and staff.

Lunch Service is available each day at the Crisis Centre
We supply over 19,000 meals each year.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this service is currently takeaway only, the lunch service runs from 11.30 am to 12.00 pm every weekday. This is a free service and provides each person with a cooked meal, drink, sandwiches, fruit, and snack.
Before COVID-19 we offered a full table service to our customers. Our wonderful volunteers preparing and cook the meals, serve, and clean up.
In times of need, the first point of contact our clients have is with the Welfare Office within St. John’s. In total confidentiality, clients can talk to a Team Member who will create an action plan for them. This plan could include food vouchers, accommodation, medical assistance, or clothing, and bedding.
Surfers Paradise Primary School lunch program
Supporting kids to go to school with 25 + school lunches per day during the school term from Tuesday to Friday each week.
Each September we start the preparation for our Christmas Hampers. These Christmas Hamper Week are provided to our clients in December. They include approximately 200 parcels of food and presents which are tailored to our client’s family needs.
