The Welfare Office at St. John’s Crisis Centre assists people in emergency or crisis situations, including families with young children.
Clients are interviewed during the hours of 9:00am and 12:00am Monday to Friday, with as much care and assistance provided as possible. Clients must register between 9:00am and 11:00am.
Hayley’s Cupboard has non-perishable food items to donate to those struggling to feed their families or themselves. There are also household supplies, towels, linen and blankets, men’s and women’s clothing, shoes, beanies and babies clothing.
In some cases we can provide an emergency relief cheque to buy groceries at Woolworths in Surfers Paradise. In extreme hardship we provide limited contribution towards electricity, school costs, and Queensland Birth Certificates.
Cheques are made out to companies or schools only, and clients need to bring a Centrelink or Health Care card to be assisted.
