When you contact St John’s Crisis Centre for support, we need to collect some personal information about you.

This helps us to:

  • understand your situation
  • confirm your eligibility for assistance where required
  • provide support
  • connect you with other services if they may be able to help.

We only collect the information we need to provide support.

Your consent

Before we can provide support, we’ll ask for your consent to collect and use your personal information.

If you don’t provide consent, we may be unable to assess your needs or provide support.

If you have any questions about how we’ll use your information, we’re happy to talk this through with you.

You can withdraw your consent at any time while you’re receiving support from us.

How we use your information

Your information may be:

  • securely stored in our systems
  • shared with other services or government agencies where needed to support you
  • used to record the services we provide.

We only share your information when it is necessary to provide support or where required by law.

If you access one of our health services (such as our nurse or physiotherapist), you’ll be asked to provide separate consent before your assessment or treatment.

Centrelink information

With your permission, we may use Centrelink Confirmation eServices to confirm your eligibility for support.

You don’t have to agree to this. If you prefer, you can provide your own Centrelink documents instead.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct your information if it’s inaccurate, incomplete or out of date
  • withdraw your consent at any time.
